📖 Journal & Cultural Points

Certain dialogue choices unlock Journal entries — illustrated facts about Hong Kong history, food, language, and culture. Each new entry earns +2 Cultural Points ✦. Completing the Dim Sum mini-game also earns points based on your score.

Spend Cultural Points on the District Map to unlock new areas. There are 18 journal entries to find across all currently playable districts.

✓ Correct match → +100 score

✗ Wrong item → −30 score

★ Complete full order → +50 bonus

✦ Score ÷ 50 = Cultural Points earned

Items include: Har Gow 蝦餃, Siu Mai 燒賣, Char Siu Bao 叉燒包, Cheung Fun 腸粉, Egg Tart 蛋撻, Lo Bak Go 蘿蔔糕, and more.

Central — 10 pts · Glass skyscrapers and colonial buildings. HSBC landmark, double-decker trams, Mid-Levels escalator.

深水埗

Sham Shui Po — 20 pts · Old Hong Kong alive. Fabric market, mahjong parlour, electronics bazaar, red lanterns.

香港仔

Aberdeen — 30 pts · Floating fishing village. Sampan boats, the Jumbo Kingdom, the old harbour. (Coming soon)

大嶼山

Lantau Island — 45 pts · Tian Tan Buddha, mountain monasteries, incense smoke and silence. (Coming soon)

城寨

• Not every dialogue choice earns a journal entry — explore all options to find the cultural ones

• You need 4 journal entries (8 pts) to unlock the first new district, Sham Tseng

• The Dim Sum mini-game is the fastest way to earn many points at once

• Cantonese pronunciations are shown in brackets, e.g. (sīu ngoh) — these are real, correct Cantonese

• All journal entries are factual — written from verified cultural and historical sources
